Since Maya was 9 months of age, she has had chronic problems with her left shoulder. Her owner noticed increased lameness and took her to the Small animal hospital in Sattledt.

After examining Maya and performing diagnostic ultrasound and CT, it became clear that Maya’s left biceps tendon was partially ruptured. This called for surgery and Dr. Schünemann performed a tenodesis procedure at the proximal humerus with one Weldix® 2.3mm anchor in combination with a Prolene® 2-0 Suture and a Bunnell-Mayer suture pattern technique.

Maya responded excellently to the treatment and after a couple of weeks she is back living her active life being an excellent gregarious companion.
